Terms of service

Last updated: [TBD: effective date]

These terms cover the hosted Valetto service at valetto.tech. ClaireVue, a business registered in Ontario, Canada, runs Valetto. [TBD: business address] "We" means ClaireVue. "You" means the person who signs in, and the organization they use Valetto for. If you use Valetto, you agree to these terms. Questions: karim@valetto.tech.

Valetto has two kinds of users:

  • Owners connect their Grok bot and share it with their customers.
  • Customers sign in with an email code and send requests through the owner's page.

Who can use it

You must be 16 or older, and able to agree to these terms. If you sign up for an organization, you confirm you're allowed to accept these terms for it.

Your account

You sign in with a code sent to your email. Keep your email account safe. You're responsible for what happens under your account.

For owners

You decide:

  • which jobs your bot offers, and the fields in each job's form;
  • who gets in: anyone with the link, or only customers you approve by email.

You also set daily caps, and you can revoke a customer's access at any time.

You're responsible for your bot. That covers what it does with each request, what it sends back, and the customer data it receives. You're responsible for telling your customers how you use their data, and for following the privacy laws that apply to your business.

Valetto checks that a request fits the fields you set, then passes it to your bot. Valetto doesn't review what your bot says or does. Treat each request as input from someone outside your business, and decide for yourself what your bot may act on.

For customers

What you type in a job's form reaches the owner's bot. The owner decides how their bot answers and what it does with your request. Results come from the owner's bot. Check anything important with the owner.

Stay within the jobs the owner offers and the daily cap they set. Don't put passwords, payment details or other people's personal information in a request unless the owner needs it for the job.

Your content

You keep the rights to your content. You give us permission to store it, process it and deliver it to the owner and their bot, so we can run Valetto. We don't use your content for anything else. Our privacy page explains what we store.

Acceptable use

Don't use Valetto to:

  • break the law, or help anyone else break it;
  • send malware, spam or phishing, or content that infringes someone else's rights;
  • send requests that try to make an owner's bot harm its owner, or leak its owner's data;
  • get into pages, accounts or systems you aren't allowed to use, or test our security without our written permission;
  • get around daily caps or rate limits, for example by opening several accounts;
  • put enough load on the service that it slows down for other people.

If you see abuse, email karim@valetto.tech.

Plans and limits

Owners set a daily cap on requests. We can change our own limits. If we lower them, we'll tell you first.

[TBD: pricing and plan limits] Before we charge for Valetto, we'll update these terms and give you notice.

Availability

We run Valetto on a best-effort basis. We don't promise any particular uptime, and the service can be slow or unavailable. A request can reach the owner's bot late or not at all. We may change, add or remove features.

No warranty

We provide Valetto "as is" and "as available". As far as the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, including that it fits a particular purpose or that it will be error-free. The form check confirms that a request has the right fields. It doesn't confirm that a bot's answer is correct, safe or true.

Limit of liability

As far as the law allows:

  • we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, data or goodwill;
  • we aren't liable for anything an owner's bot does or says in response to a request;
  • our total liability for any claim about Valetto is limited to the greater of CAD $100 or what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Some places don't allow some of these limits. Where they don't, the limits apply as far as the law allows.

Ending your use

You can stop using Valetto at any time. To delete your account, email us, as our privacy page explains. Owners can revoke a customer's access at any time.

We can suspend or close an account, or end a customer's access, if you break these terms, if your use puts the service or other people at risk, or if the law requires it. If we can, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. We can also shut down the service. If we do, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice, so you can export what you need.

Some sections stay in effect after your use ends: your content, acceptable use, no warranty, limit of liability and governing law.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top. For a significant change, we'll email you before it takes effect. If you keep using Valetto after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms.

Governing law

The laws of Ontario, and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, govern these terms. If you're a consumer, this doesn't take away any rights the consumer protection laws where you live give you.
